[VIDEO] From having his own YouTube channel to organising guided tours of London, everything Rafa Maciel does seems to involve using his communication skills to meet new people in a fun and engaging way.
[PHOTOS] Pragmatic and straightforward, Liliana works at a foreign exchange company, and is engaged to Rome-born Andrea, who she met just two years ago.
[VIDEO] When Mara Alves was a child, her mum gave her a book about legendary Spanish artist Salvador Dali. The collection of Dali’s work inspired Mara to pursue a career in the world of arts. Since then, she has tried everything from ceramics and pottery, to drawing and painting.
[PHOTOS] Bernardo is chasing the entertainment dream. He wants to be part of one of the grand musical theatre plays that vibrate London’s Soho and Leicester Square.

[VIDEO] Born in Costa da Caparica, a beach town near Lisbon, João Costa was forced to leave his home country when he found himself jobless during the financial crisis. Like himself, many other teachers were left unemployed. In 2007, João took matters into his own hands and moved to London, where he now works as an Assistant Headteacher.
[PHOTOS] Born in the Portuguese capital, Ludmila has family from both Guinea and Cape Verde. But, over 10 years ago, she moved to the UK, where she completed high school and graduated with a French and Political Science degree from the University of Leeds.
[VIDEO] Now in London, Rui has just graduated with a Biochemistry degree from Kingston University. But even though he enjoyed his studies, Rui’s passion is somewhere else – in the world of entrepreneurship.
[VIDEO] As a child, Inês Sequeira was inspired by her mother, a former school teacher, to explore and discover the world of science.
[VIDEO] Being from the same country is not the only aspect connecting the two. Inspired by their family roots, Estevão and Mena love cooking.
[VIDEO] When you walk into O Cantinho de Portugal, a restaurant located in the heart of Stockwell, you might wonder if you are still in London. Owned by Francisco and Carla Durães, the restaurant looks, smells and feels like Portugal.
[VIDEO] Seven years ago, Joana Jesus left Lisbon and moved to London. Since then, she has been involved in a handful of projects – from developing her own curriculum module to starting a YouTube channel.
