Portuguese-speakers come to London from 10 different countries: Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, East Timor, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe and Macau.
They are predominantly concentrated in and around an area known as Little Portugal in Stockwell – where you can find Portuguese businesses managed by migrants themselves, offering everything from traditional dishes to Portuguese-made products.
But they also live all across London. Our community is home to Portuguese-speaking CEOs, campaigners, journalists, politicians, artists and change makers.
Our online media platform aims to tell the inspiring stories of Portuguese-speakers in London. Through videos and photographs, we want to report on the fantastic things they are achieving, but also on some of the challenges they might face.
